Character has been eliminated and pointless electronic stuff added as a distraction.
Earlier this week I had a BMW 320i Touring for 24 hours as a rental. It is unremittingly bland and served only to confirm my decision to get rid of my own similar car 18 months ago.
At the moment there isn't a new car that is affordable to me and that I'd want to buy.
