Providing the process was controlled and that’s mainly down to degreasing and cleanliness there would be no issue with PB and steel. No need for secondary measures. If you were specifying it in a critical application one would normally specify a proof load to be applied after curing.
Cool. So all I need to do is take a set of stock pb bushes, chuck them up and take a couple of thou of the outer diameter, and bond them into the stub axle tubes using the kingpin to ensure alignment? Sounds much easier than faffing about with a reamer.
It's almost a shame I've got HC kingpins and only around 35k miles on them. It's going to be a while before they need doing.
