My logic and maths are sound, just selfish.

The Morgan is exempt from all discussions about fuel efficiency and logic simply because it is a Morgan. This is "The Rule of M". thumbs

I'd like to replace the E Coupe with something much more sensible. But I cannot, for 2 reasons.
1. To buy a new E Coupe Hybrid next year would cost about £500 a month. That is 450 or so L of diesel. We actually spend about £60 a month. OK, the road tax would be less, so I'd save about £10 a month.

So, to be "responsible" I can spend £6000 a year. The responsible car will do everything the irresponsible one will do. I can think of many, better ways of spending £6000 a year.

For me to "Go Green" I need a far, far bigger incentive.

2. Caroline, swmbo, owns the car and refuses to discuss changing it.
Which trumps all other arguments, really. . . . .

It is also Ironic, at least in my mind, that the little CLC, which costs more in road tax than the diesel, is actually more economical, based on the use patterns.

Finally, there was a time that I'd have done anything Felicity asked me to do. Even sell the Plus 8. But not now. I'm older and wiser....
