Christmas cake and Christmas pudding are not part of the Italian tradition. In the past I have made the cake but the last couple of years we have missed out because I didn't think of it until it was too late. In effect the same has happened this year. I ordered a couple of their puddings too.
If they had mince pies I would have ordered them as well. A nice mince pie goes down a treat.
Goodness knows what my cardiologist would say about my Christmas diet: my cholesterol is just a tad above the desirable level as is my blood sugar content, blood pressure is fortunately good and under control with the minimum of medication. His theory is that individually the risk levels are low but taken together they multiply. He wants me to pursue a low sugar, low fat diet. As I said to him, Italy is not a low fat country. So we finished up with an "understanding" over Christmas

but he insists I should make up for it in the New Year.
