Actually the buyer (a motor trader, not in the Morgan world, it turns out) has responded to BHM with a threat of legal action, stating that "a deal is a deal".

To say I am a bit upset is an understatement. I have asked BHM to put him in touch with me directly, so that I can explain that the car is no longer up for sale, and why. I am hoping that he is thinking that the seller has price regret and is trying to exit by telling fibs. I am hoping that a conversation with me will conclude that circumstances have changed, and I no longer wish to sell the car for very genuine reasons.

If he still behaves in an ungentlemanly manner, I will be disappointed. My wife, understandably has told me to let it go.

If anyone else sees my car up for sale in a couple of months at doubtless a massive mark-up, from a dealership, please refuse to entertain buying it.

Sad times.
