My father's favorite was the 1951 Triumph Renown he bought in 1960. I used to chew the hand straps in the back and recall the taste--leather and decaying elastic!
His other favorite was the 1959 Rover 75 I learned to drive on.
His first was a 1929 Triumph Super Seven bought after WW2. It had been sitting idle on someone's driveway for years. He slammed a door and the body collapsed! He the built a plywood covered two seater roadster body. The car was called Prudence. He died suddenly at 47, three weeks after his father.
