Graham you would need to set aside several hours and he may not stay on topic. However, given your interests, you would find the diversions entertaining. He would certainly add the charms of the John Deere A model, bought new about 1940 (I have to check that) and which was still giving service when I was a lad in the late 1960's. Anyone who has ever driven one of these 2 cylinder (309 ci) beauties will never forget the experience. My dad loved it and I spent many hours on it too. When the farm was sold we donated it to a local museum but somehow the museum let it go and it is now in private hands. Anyway, to drift back to the thread, this was my Dad's favourite tractor. He would drive it to see my mum when they were courting.
