On the subject of waving, I remember as a small boy, that from the back seat, it always gave us boys (3 brothers) a thrill to break the monotony of the journey if we saw an "AA patrol man".
They always saluted the car with the badge on the front.
We of course all waved and if he could not or did not see us, and no wave.....well, we brought the roof down.
In later years, the practice was dropped when they went from the motorcycle and side car to morris 1000 vans.
It must have been a real pain to try and salute every car you meet when driving a motorcycle and side-car , using the throttle hand for the wave. Just a thought...
Where I live there are only 2 other Morgan's in the district and we only see each other at the car club meets once a month, but I add that when out in my Morgan people often wave and when refuelling, come over for a chat.
so life goes on and on
