The executive summary is: fabulous!

I was quite worried about stories of hard suspension and being brave to buy before I drive.... but the worries are unfounded and the car feels lovely. Much more compliment than I had imagined.
The exhaust note is very charismatic, performance is lively, and it all feels rather special.

My initial observation is that you have to get quite close to the steering wheel to reach the throttle. Have most of you got a longer right leg from stretching?!
The old style hood looks lovely but getting those header rail fixings undone isn't easy, there must be a knack which I'm hoping some kind soul will teach me.
Roof is off, half tonneau is on as is the flat cap! 😂
Cheers, Giles

So nothing changes! Giles what you've written is exactly my experience with an old ('68) and well used 4/4. Also bought without having driven any other Mog. About all we could debate is VFE I.e. Flat Cap Critical speed. Mine lifts at 70mph but that's not something to blame on the 4/4. You have a great car.
