Did you have a Mk8 KTT or a Mk 2 KSS?
The only reason I ask is my 1947 KSS has an iron barrel!

Alas it was the less exotic Mk2 KSS, only saw one other with an alloy barrel, maybe a go faster option in its day? Also I fitted a belt primary, not really worth it in the end..
