The story was that Quaife delivered the contracted specification.

The only experience I have with diff was that I renewed the four thrust washers in my MGB diff. In that, the pinion setting was crucial to avoid whining and used a one use only collapsible spacer under the pinion nut.
Setting up from scratch needed special tools.
