Day 5
Now we know why Cantabria is so green. Rain started at midnight and continued throughout the morning. We left after breakfast and continued south on the Autopista Ruta de la Plata towards our next hotel spa at Caldas de la Luna. On the northern side of the mountain we climbed steadily in light rain and mist from sea level to 1229 metres (4,000 feet ASL) at which point we traversed a long tunel to break out in the barren rockscape and brilliant sunshine on the southern side of the mountains.

Once booked in we took a walk to the nearby village and then returned to use the spa facilities and enjoy a very relaxing massage. A brief rest was then followed by an excellent meal.

Batteries are no recharged for the next sprint to Chaves.
