The cars in the incidents are high end new/pretty new.
I have mentioned in another thread about the number of “ageing” Morgans that are the norm. Mine is 15 yrs old.
I take the view that systems on ageing cars need thorough checking/replacing due to age effects.
Hoses harden, electrical connections corrode, fluids go off.
Petrol.......old flexible hosescan age and be affected by ethanol. Seals can be similarly affected. I overhauled my previous car fuel system when replacing a failed pump. New pipes/extra filter etc. A precautionary and inexpensive job but worth it in my view.
Electrics.......earth connections deteriorate, many connectors corrode. Last month I replace bullet connectors to the wingtop sidelights due to corrosion. Poor design of non waterproof bullets in a harsh area where wheel spray hits them.
Brake fluid....recently posted and discussed.
Tyres.....several threads re older tyres.
Controversial (?) statement......Morgans are not cheap yet some design features/components ARE cheap and/or ripe for 8mprovement.
