As Arwyn suggests, with long term contamination, it is probably best to consider replacing.

I am not a qualified materials engineer so cannot say whether the material used for shoes is softer or more absorbent than that used for pads; however I suspect pad material is more dense and less absorbent.

If your enthusiasm for greasing has simply run away with you, them you should be ok but do test the brakes on a quiet road.
