The written road test in Autocar is almost ecstatic, within other articles it is mentioned. One telling comment was that the Alfa 4C seemed wonderful, but on British roads is disappointing, but the Alpine works on both rubbish roads and the track!
At £50k it will sell well, but FHD production doesn't start for 12 months.

The initial tests of the 4C were far from universally good despite the tendency of journalists to give a good write up to anything new. I wonder what the Renault offers outside France that isnt already offered by Lotus.
Taking the Elise Cup 250 as the most obvious competitor, its lighter (917kg vs 1100) with the same power (243 bhp vs 249) and cheaper (£46.5k vs £50k). Its likeoly to be more reliable with Toyota mechanicals and a manual box - certainly my Lotus was the most reliable car I have ever had over its 7 years with me. Plus the Lotus doesnt have a turbo engine inevitably with turbo lag.
