Yes it is an offence to use a hand held mobile phone or other mobile device unless parked with engine of and handbrake applied. For any purpose this includes as a GPS or to access music = £200 + 6 points. An alternative charge is Fail to maintain proper control = £100 +3 points.

I wonder how the remote control is viewed in this context. It is only a group of buttons and much safer to use than groping under the dash.



Peter it's not a mobile device. But care should be taken when using that you keep your eyes on the road it only takes 2 seconds distraction to cause a collision.
