The cost from a dealer includes their warranty which a car an owner has if a few years old and is usually out of warranty.

Will an insurance company pay for what they call betterment as the owner would be getting a warranty on the replacement car at dealer prices while the one it replaces is usually out of warranty. I think they would pay less to make up for that.

The insurance should pay the dealer price to replace your car (retail) an agreement I have. The value of my morgan was insured on this basis.
