...My vote would be for MMC to revive the traditional British sports car in a simple non electronic form. By that I am meaning a modern design of the physical size of an MX5 but more expensive and special. ...
+1 - no reason they could not platform share with Lotus and Caterham (remember Caterham collaborated with but got cold feet over the new Alpine). New alu chassis smaller than the Aero 8... Lotus do wedge, Caterham cycle wings, Morgan trad style at least in the front - no need for legacy unaerodynamics for their next generation of customers!
...Given they are using the 3.7 Mustang engine in trads. already, they have to be looking at the light pressure turbo Ecoboost 4 cylinder engines, used in Mustangs and Focus. The 2.3 produces around 350 bhp and monster torque and the 1.6 is around 220bhp both straight out of the crate. They are current engines with all emission testing done. Power, and current emissions all sorted. What they will do with the Aero though is anyone's guess...
Mustang V8 anyone?

4/4 replaced by the 3/4 (1.0 triple turbo)?
...Maybe like the SLR +4 Morgan shape?...
Bingo! JLR are changing a pretty penny for rebuilt ETypes etc. The SLR is smaller, rarer... makes much more sense than the Aero shape in my opinion! Ideally fitted to the new alu chassis and new Ford engines above
