Update!
Completed the job yesterday. Eventually decided to wire the buzzer into the dashboard light indicators. They were the easiest option. I bought a buzzer with a blue led attached which I have aimed down on my blue leather transmission tunnel. Works perfectly. In fact too loud so a little dampening is required.
