by a scamera - first time in 30 years.
In Wiltshire where as usual the NSL road had gone from 60 to 50 and now to 40, no buildings anywhere around, nothing on my side of the road but coming up to a right hand bend with trees on the verge there was a camera facing me that flashed twice. No chance to check my speed and slow down.
No stripes my side of the road and I thought that facing cameras with white flashed were not allowed any longer. But it definitely was my car that triggered the camera.
What really irritates is that I was behaving myself doing 30 in the 30 limits etc. But whereas it used to be sufficient to drive sensibly according to the surroundings ( ie you knew when you were in a built up area at 30mph, and most open roads arent good for more than 60 anyway) with the proliferation of silly reduced limits its now a case of spot the sign. Easier said than done with forests of road signs all over, and sudden short changes in speed limits. On one of these clever motorways near us you will do several miles with 50 on the gantireis, then one gantry will say 40 then back to 50 immediately afterwards. With no obvious reason other than to catch people.
Harumph!!! So its wait for the NIP now.
