Interestingly many of those so-called "homeless" in Windsor are voluntarily so. They've refused accomodation elsewhere etc etc. "Help the homeless" should really be "home the helpless"! But if folks want to live (beg / drink / sh*t / etc) in the street they need to understand they DON'T have the right to any particular PIECE of street... Remember ALL these "homeless" people have care workers etc (at huge cost to society I might add!).

Meanwhile re Appleby: we shouldnt tarnish an entire culture ("travellers") with the bad deeds of a some subset of them. But those who break the law should feel the full force of it - confiscation of vehicles trespassing for a third time would be a good start. Forced repatriation to Dublin / wherever if appropriate with banning from the UK. And time for elected police commissioners to ensure the law is enforced, perhaps?
