Observing Roger working on the pump that failed on the euro 4 car during the Albert Ball trip that one was completely dead as soon as the new unit was plugged in it worked so was probably another issue other than hot gas.
Would be worth disassembling a failed pump to see whats actually gone wrong I guess, debris, burnt out motor, valve failure etc.
