Funnily enough, this was my very first thought when I started looking at this but I had a couple of very detailed conversations with Andy Jackson at ITG ( and also sent him a load of measurements and photos) and he was very much against anything which lengthened the intake pipe.

His big concern was turbulence of the air in the duct itself and for this reason, he was keen to get as short a duct as possible and then mount the Maxogen on the bulkhead
As I've said in previous posts, I'm still looking at doing this in conjunction with a new half- bonnet on the passenger side with a SS type airscoop.
