I was cruising at about 70mph the other day, with no vehicles ahead, when there was a loud impact as if a stone had struck the 4/4's windscreen, immediately ahead of my face. I got a flash of something travelling from left to right. It was a bird.
I reflected afterwards that this is a compelling argument for driving with sidescreens on.
I once went to a RTC where a motorcyclist was hit in the head by a cock pheasant flying from right to left. Knocked him and into a ditch breaking his shoulder blade. Pheasant did not survive and I believe the M/Cyclist took great pleasure eating it
