This is a follow-up to my post on 13th September.
We have now removed the roll hoop that was rubbing against the bodywork. As you can see from the mark left by the rubber grommet, the hoop has been way off-centre in the bodywork hole.

The paint has been worn off the roll hoop and the rubber grommet has been worn away.
Obviously all this rubbing and scraping caused quite a bit of noise when the car was being driven.

The roll hoop was a bit of a pig to remove. It is a loose fit within the chassis guides, BUT the tubes partially distort as the fixing bolts are tightened which effectively means that you are trying to get an oval tube out of a round hole. We (very carefully) used a small scissor jack under the hoop to persuade it to come loose.

The plan now is to elongate the hole by just enough to enable us to fit a new grommet.
