I think I’ll be going for the remote kit, will get Oakmere to fit it as by the time I’ve bought the right sized drill bit, broken it, replaced it, recharged the drill, knocked tea into the engine bay and so on the charge made by Oakmere will be money well spent.
Points re wiping excess grease off and not ignoring the need for ongoing fettling are duly noted and much appreciated.
I have some ramps, and a trolley jack, having run other classics in the past (1948 Daimler DB18, chrome bumper MGB) as well as a couple of more modern Defenders so I’m familiar with skinnned knuckles, things that should move being stuck fast, things that should be stuck fast flapping around in the breeze and so on...but have got a bit out of the habit in recent years.
