Apologies for pulling up this old thread but a recent query today got me thinking again about the throttle lag issue with this engine, which mainly affects upward gear changing.

this US forum thread I had previously bookmarked re disgruntled 3.7 Mustang owners, but one post in particular on page 2 caught my attention. In essence the owner replaced the clutch fluid line(s) with braided which he claims cured the lag issue as well as changing the clutch take up point. He found restrictors in the OE lines!
