Thanks for reply Jon. Its not unusual for restrictors or valves in the clutch fluid line to delay clutch take up, our old Shogun had one. Ideally it should delay only take up not release hence the use of valves (CDV's). This gives smoother take up if the clutch is accidentally
dumped although it also serves to smooth an otherwise a sharp clutch. Thought it worth mentioning in case there was one hidden away somewhere although can't imagine MMC adopting such.
Yes after I'd made the post I recalled MMC using braided hoses although that's probably not the issue.
Not sure if its unique to my car but if I slip clutch on standing start with a few revs on I get noticeable clutch judder. This is more pronounced with a start in second as recommended by MMC.
