And the Midlands, or indeed anywhere near any cities, it seems.

I don't stray out of Gloucestershire much except when I'm on holiday, and I am truly staggered just how busy the roads are in urban areas. In Stroud, the rush hour doesn't even last for the full hour really. The B roads are blissfully quiet and you can get most places without ever having to deal with heavy congestion.

So I guess our attitudes to driving and the behaviour of other drivers is heavily shaped by the conditions in which we find ourselves.
