Here's my very long-term project. The car was disassembled around 1980 and left outside since. Preservation methods were used for the chassis, but the body was left to the elements. Sadly, few if any wood is salvageable and most the tub sheet metal will need to be replaced.
First step was to sort and stow the parts. Second step was draining the engine oil and transmission. Thankfully, water was detected during draining. The engine cylinders are receiving a Kroil soak. Hopefully this will free the engine so I can rotate it by hand.
I removed the engine and transmission from the chassis. After I remove the suspension and rear axle I'll begin cleaning the chassis. I'm emotionally prepared for an engine rebuild. I think sorting the chassis and driveline will be easy compared to what's waiting in the shadows- expensive parts purchases. I figure if I get this done within 10 years, I'll be ahead of schedule.
