I can't speak for the Antipodes but going back to the early 1970's when we worked in South Africa for a few years we needed to get an International Drivers License. In those days we did it through the AA here and renewal was done out there in Cape Town (AA) so it goes back a while.
That sparked a memory, I recall the AA doing them when I was a member years ago.
Out of interest, I just searched around to see when the AA stopped being the issuer and found out it was two days ago!
"The way you apply for an IDP has changed – we can't issue any IDPs at all (including by post or at our Folkestone/Eurotunnel shop) after 31 January 2019."
