You won't mind if I add my "penneth I know. I have owned Morgans for more than thirty years now and have driven many miles in all weathers. In that time too I have driven all sorts of vehicles and daily swap left for right hand drive. I have never considered the Morgan to be a toy and have only been let down twice by the side of the road, once due to a water pump failure and once due to a relay. There are other long term owners here I know who may have similar experiences. It is true that when I first left my MGB and Elan for the Morgan , I thought that I might have made a dreadful mistake but I soon got over it. As for the cars being referred to as inferior in design or performance `I cannot say that I have found that to be true in practical terms. They are sound cars which deliver a lot. We become better drivers through perseverance and study : somehow the Morgan contributes because we are more aware of our surroundings, in a tactile manner. As an aside, I often wonder what I have gained over the years in moving from my kent engined 4/4 to my current Roadster, experience certainly, and the build quality is very much better, but essentially the pleasure factor has remained the same. I think now that , were it possible to rerun the years I would have kept the first car and developed it as needed. Those of us who feel grounded in this way will know what I mean.
