Eddie, my old post you quoted was polemic, of course. I didn't want to offend anyone with it and I hope we don't have any disgruntlement.

On page 292 of the manual see the link below 5W50 for racing is recommended for the Ecoboost. Not for the 5.0 litre on the following pages. But for the Shelby in the other manual also.

This is certainly not recommended without justification. For the Sigma 1.6 there is not such a recommendation by Ford. But I suppose this is because nobody has the idea to do a Ford Fiesta 1.6 trackday. If I take the 4/4 hard, it can not be completely wrong to choose a higher viscosity.

I am wondering which oil e.g. Lawrie used when they had the racing Sigma even it is not comparable with the standard engine.
