Thank you all!

Actually I was trying to find out why there was slight wheel wobble, and discovered that the wheel nut was loose!!! and that the split pin had been forced into the nearest castelation by backing the nut off....
I needed the right socket so I could forced the pin out, which I've now done, as a 33mm just about did the job.
Why had they done that though... because the washer was so thick that the nut didn't do up fully, and the castelations were out of line with the pin holes to feed the pin in through.
So now I have much more work as its obvious the bearing must be wrongly inserted or the spline damaged.
Ugh!
