coincidence Bruce, i was just looking what parts to remove now that my engine is out due broken clutch. Both feed lines to the pillars were cut in the wheel wells by PO and replaced by grease nipples. Both lines disconnected at the oiler switch and blank plugs.
'89 Plus 4 with Rover M16 engine.
At the filter housing starts a metal line to the side of the engine with a oil pressure sensor ( not used) and further a plastic hose to the bulkhead switch. From there also a plastic hose to the gauge inside.
Being 30 years old now i will remove all this to avoid oil leaks , sure from the plastic hoses….ok, my gauge will not work anymore. But who keeps a eye on this ? we have still the red warning light . ( a sensor direct on the engine block ) .
If ever, i can replace it with a electric gauge/sensor, i'm not a fan of having oil pressure up to inside the cabin !
