Interesting about McLaren paint...
The guys who did my Morgan had 2 new McLaren's in their facility at the same time... one new, one after their work. They showed me the paint under their 'special' lights and I was amazed how 'imperfect' it was straight from the factory! The detailed car was however on another level.
They also commented how 'soft' the paint was on my Morgan (and others they had seen) and they had to be very careful with getting the correction done so as to not go too far into the 'clear coat'.. Apparently metallic paint finishes are typically much 'harder' as well, even from the same manufacturer with Porsche metallics being pretty well 'bombproof'
It's quite a 'science' I gather to get this process right...
