would be interested to see a photo of the offending upright. there is a similar issue with Ferrari but suppliers have developed rebuild alternatives I believe.
I should be able to photograph the new part on Monday.
Research suggests that the lower joint screws into the upright and then the position is fixed by 3 set screws. The suspicion is the addition of some form of adhesive/sealant is a "belt and braces" measure to ensure that nothing can come lose.
We shall see.
