6 months of terrible pain. 24 hour pain killers. Numerous trips to the docs to get referrals. It was taking me an hour just to get dressed in a morning

£600 spent on chiropractors. £500 spent on private physio

Both didn’t seem to help at all. I look back and think it was completely wasted money

The breakthrough came when I client recommended Robin Mckenzie’s book ‘Treat Your Own Back’

Spent £13 on it

Did the exercises religiously several times a day and straight away I knew it was helping

2-3 weeks later, sciatica gone and now very rarely get back pain

I still do the excersises a couple of time a week and at the gym

Just before I got the book I had a back scan through the NHS and my problem was a severely bulging disc in my lower spine pushing into my sciatic nerve so if anyone has similar lower back problems then I can’t recommend the book highly enough

I just wish I had known about it before spending a lot of money and time getting nowhere

+1 for the Mckenzie book.

I bought this on the back of a recommendation on here. (Might have been you Stewart)

When I was having NHS physio, I mentioned the book and the physio said that a lot of the modern techniques were based on Mckenzie's work.

I followed a combination of the physio's advice and the book and my back's been a lot better.

One piece of advice which rankled but made sense was to recognise that you're getting older and that you do need to keep the back working but pay more attention to potentially injurious movements.

I still get twinges but when I do recognise the damage starting, I back off before the serious damage is done
