Not on my 1993 4/4 it isn't John! Wasn't on my '76 or or '97 +4 either I guess it depends on the water valve as fitted.
Had same confusion on my 1994 Plus 8 the original valve was very stiff to operate and so i bought a replacement and discovered it worked oposite from the original. So obviously MMC had a change of mind as to which way was best
