Stuff like this is actually very simple, Bob. Shapes like this are very easy to draw up in 3D CAD, and wil print in something like ABS with no problems. I pre-processed this prototype and it would take about 24 hours to print in very high resolution at a cost of around 3 quid's worth of filament. You could do it much quicker and cheaper by using a lower resolution, but you'd have to sand it down more to get a perfectly smooth surface for painting. It would print even easier flipped over so the tube was upright, but I took the screenshot before I did that.
