I missed the obvious one - shallower sump for the Roadster. So easy to sort but so unlikely to get sorted.
This is also an issue with the later editions of the Aero, such as the AeroMax and the Aero SS (and I guess the Series IV?). The sump is much lower than the earlier iterations and as we are surrounded by speed bumps in Berkshire, it is a real pain slowing down to a max of 10 mph to go over them! Some members are already on their second or third sump!!
I guess the only real answer is to dry-sump them, but as MMC are now into the run-out models of the BMW V8's, I doubt very much that the Works will come out with such a modification.
On general quality, my Series I Aero went back to the works in 2002 with a list of nearly 60 items to be rectified, many of them quite serious, and it did take several visits before I was completely happy with the car. I must say that MMC were very helpful and did work to sort out the issues and fitted a completely new hood and many other items in order to ensure the car was the required standard.
My latest Aero SuperSports has been pretty trouble-free, the only major fault has been a problem with the seals on the Targa-top. This was a problem that all early SS's had, and was been sorted out when it went back for its first-service, when a newly designed set of seals was fitted under warranty.
The car is now 10-months old and I have done circa 6,000 miles and have had no electrical problems whatsoever, the bugbear of the Series IV/AeroMax, the paint is extremely well-applied (according to my Detailer) and the leather trim is near perfect. I am very happy with the car and hope that I am not tempting the Gods with my comments.
As regards the M3W, I am sure that early cars will have some issues and as mine will be one of them, I quite expect to have to act as a development 'mule' (no comments please Boshers!). I am sure that by the time it gets to yours Steven, most of these teething problems will have been sorted and I am sure you can buy with confidence. Any minor issues that you have will be sorted I am sure by Denis, one of the really good Morgan Dealer's so now I think it is back to
colour color choices...
