Dont quite see that one. In fact dont see it at all. The two I have done were the Lotus Owners jobbie at castle combe ( chock a block with old beardies in classic loti) and a local one at Llandow which was full of souped up Clios and young chavs in burberry baseball caps.
If they serve a purpose at all, its to allow you to drive at the sort of speed that would have you jailed if caught on the open road. Nothing to do with money, new or old.
