There is just one thing, where I am very concerned with the +8. That is the Lucas injection. How reliable is it? I mean… Lucas does not have the best reputation out there… The SU carburettors from the Healey are so much less frightening…

Don't worry for that, regarding the year it i probably a "Hotwire", but could be a "GEMS". Both systems are reliable, a lot more than carburettors.

As above , very reliable , has been fitted to thousands of rover v8's , either hotwire or flapper both being excellent - flapper does pops and bangs hotwire shuts off fueling when right foot off accelerator .
