Not sure I fully understand the vitriol against second-home owners who have often contributed to local communities for decades starting when the farmers started to use more technology to reduce farm workers who lost their jobs and homes. People like me bought old falling down properties and for twenty years have employed local people to run the place often providing contributions to local incomes. Who sit on local parish councils and contribute both time and money to local issues- who pay their taxes and over many decades have only really used the refuse collection - but paid for local services they never use? But now suddenly - I am a pariah?

Because I live 35 miles from London why am I more of a contagious threat than the local farmers many of who have returned recently from their skiing trip? Or the school in South Devon that brought the infection back from a trip?

I’m not sure all the locals in this little East Devon community would agree with some of your views? I know it’s scary times - but let’s not make such badly thought through and broad based assertions on a wide group of people?
