Who sit on local parish councils and contribute both time and money to local issues- who pay their taxes and over many decades have only really used the refuse collection - but paid for local services they never use? Because I live 35 miles from London why am I more of a contagious threat than the local farmers many of who have returned recently from their skiing trip? Or the school in South Devon that brought the infection back from a trip?

I’m not sure all the locals in this little East Devon community would agree with some of your views? I know it’s scary times - but let’s not make such badly thought through and broad based assertions on a wide group of people?

Well we in South Devon really do appreciate the contribution that you second home owners make to the facilities which we could no longer afford to maintain without you coming down and sharing our part of the country with us grouphug .

I think the OP was just expressing a very real concern about transmission as opposed to a dislike of the second home owners.

Enjoy your time down with us.

Definitely. One only visits South Devon for the warm and genuine welcome extended to seasonal visitors from the local people. Why else would one go there? I'm pretty sure that same friendly welcome is extended to second home owners.

Absolutely Fox Terrier, we all appreciate how lucky we are to call this our home and like sharing it with others and that welcome is I hope extended to all visitors.

This was demonstrated to myself and good lady as we strolled along the Dartmouth embankment this week amid the visiting cruise liner passengers and everyone exchanged greetings as usual, the visitors of all kinds have become the very lifeblood of our communities in the West Country is the reality of the situation.
