I simply could not justify it. We are not going to the supermarket anyway but are using the small shops within about 200 metres of home, we have 3 bakers, one of which is a small general shop, a butcher and a green grocer. The only thing we lack is the candlestick maker. The nearest supermarket is about a kilometre away, and that is too close to even get the engine up to temperature.
Costs are obviously higher than the supermarket and there are some things that they don't stock but we do avoid both the risk and the queues.
PS. Our town of 10,000 has officially 30 cases of COVID-19 with 4 currently in hospital and 4 officially cured, unfortunately 9 persons deceased. This probably means that there are as many as another 60 or 100 (could even be many more) who have had only light symptoms. This highlights the need for everyone to take precautions. We know of one person who was in hospital with a severe bronchitis before people were even thinking about coronavirus in this area, so he probably was infected too.
