Probably caused by being screwed directly into the ash frame with a power screwdriver and no pilot hole. Screws made from cheese doesn't help either. Replace with stainless but you won't be able to use same hole location.


I carry a box of cooking matches in my car (safety ones of course). If I ever get a loose wood screw while out and about, a couple of neatly trimmed matches poked in the whole make a suitable fix and give the screw plenty to bite on. If I'm at home, I use a touch of woodglue to help.



I used to use matches too.

But since I own the MORGAN and because I am sometimes a perfectionist, I have bought various round rods made of beech wood that I use as wooden dowels.
