I hope Simon or Cooperman can help you out Kevin.
The problem will be (I suspect) that the original was cut from an engine turned, flat sheet (as Simon pointed out) but then
pressed into the 3D shape.
To recreate a copy you would need to be able to shape the contours on the sides.
If you try to engine turn your original cover, it is nigh on impossible to complete the pattern on the edges*.....
