Hello Howard. I think the issue with the forming of the console is that the press isn't available to form the console and the price would be high to produce one with possibly very little return so even if we could form it from flat turned panels using the method you described what would the cost be and would anyone take on the initial expense?
Cain did explain to me the reason for the cost was that producing the turned metal was time consuming skilled work but I was still gobsmacked by the price at nearly a thousand pounds if one were available. Also if I did bite the bullet and spend the cash and as James has said the console takes a lot of abuse and ends up in a scruffy scratched state very quickly with no chance of polishing defects out without destroying the turned finish.
