The problem is not the level of risk folks are prepared to take. The problem is that those that are asymptomatic carriers and are prepared to take the risk are passing the virus on to others, some of whom may be prepared to take the risk but all will undoubtedly be spreading the virus to people who are not taking risks.

It has been made very clear that most of the rules and regulations that have been made, including the wearing of masks, are not to protect you from infection but to protect others from the infection that you may be carrying.

Imagine that you were at the top of a hill and had to get a truck to the bottom but warned to be careful because the brakes were a bit dodgy. First you would have a look at the road to see if there was a place to go if the brakes failed and perhaps you would be prepared to take the risk. Then all of a sudden you see that the road at the bottom of the hill is crowded with people - Are you still prepared to take the risk knowing that the results of your action might kill and permanently injure a lot of people?

It would be easy to say that by definition 50% of the population is below the media in intelligence and that 50% doesn't understand this simple fact, however it seems that many people I would otherwise classify as intelligent do not understand this.

If everyone understood that it is not about them taking the risk or otherwise, it is about them being prepared to protect others or not, the spread of the virus would continue to fall as it has during the lockdown.
